1. Roomba Q5 pro

The Q5 Pro and its sibling, the more expensive Q7 Max Series, are among the most powerful robot vacuums we've test. They are equipped with motors that are top of the quality and can suction up to 5,500 Pascals. Similar to other iRobots that are premium (including the most powerful model), they use smart mapping to produce precise floor plans and eliminate household obstacles like furniture leg. They also come with carpet boost that increases the robot's power when it spots the presence of dirt on the carpet in order to get it clean quickly.

Both the Q5 and the Q7 Max Series get very excellent scores in our floor tests that test for bare floors They're also particularly adept at cleaning pet hair. They do have some flaws, however, that prevent them from being our first option. One of the Q5's shortcomings is its navigation system does not include AI-powered obstacle avoidance.  best robot vacuum cleaner 's also prone to get stuck on shoes and socks and couldn't navigate through rooms with a lot of people efficiently during our tests. It also doesn't come with a camera that would let it see the corners of the room.

However, it's a good choice to consider, particularly if you're looking to save money on a Roomba from iRobot and have a mostly bare-floor home or office. Plus, it's very quiet and you can use it while you're at work, or at school. It lacks the edge-to-edge bare floor vacuuming offered in the more expensive iRobot Roomba X30. It's also less effective when it comes to mopping. It is dependent on disposable wet wipes, which don't stick well and aren't able to deal with dried-on debris. The Q5 has a self-emptying cradle that can be emptied by itself. If you're required to mop, the mopping pad can be swapped for a wet one in seconds.

2. iRobot Roomba X30

The iRobot Roomba X30 packs impressive vacuuming and mopping capabilities into a compact, sleek package. Its intelligent cleaning maps as well as quick navigation make it easy to clean and effective in tackling larger particles such as pet hair. It also features a self-emptying bin with powerful suction and support for virtual boundaries. It's the best robot vacuum for carpets, though it isn't as efficient as some of its competitors in deep cleaning.

This high-performance vacuum and mop uses sensors that help it avoid obstacles and pet waste. It also learns the patterns of your home over time and ensure better cleaning. You can alter the schedule of cleaning and even customize zones using the app that is well-designed. It comes with a battery life that is similar to other models.

When the X30 Ultra is in a carpeted space, you can tell it to pull back and extend its mops. This can help avoid cross contamination. Its flex arm is also perfect for getting under furniture that is low and along baseboards. However, it doesn't have the same washboard performance as our other Editors' Choice picks, the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo N8 Professional+ and the iRobot Combo j9+.

During testing during testing, the X30 Ultra was the fastest robot vacuum/mop that could complete an entire house, finishing with 66 percent of its battery left. It did a great cleaning job on various floors and rooms with different flooring types, including certain area carpets. Its obstacle detection was top-of-the-line and it swiftly eluded fake dog socks, turds and cables.

It's a bit more expensive than the iRobot Combo v9+ and iRobot Roomba j9+, however, it comes with superior suction, a built-in dust bin that automatically empties into its base, and it supports voice commands via Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. It can even clean the floor after it vacuums this feature, which we haven't seen in other robot vacuum/mop combinations.

3. IRobot Roomba X40

This robot vacuum and mop combination features a sleek, circular design that appears more like a regular Roomba model than the boxy models from the rivals. It's among our most attractive robot vacuums. iRobot's latest flagship model also is among the most intelligent model, with features that are cutting-edge like Enhanced Dirt Detection Technology and future compatibility with Matter (another company's robot that is able to wash mop pads).

It's also the only robotic vacuum/mop to score an absolute 10 out of 10 in our tests. This is due to a mix of modern sensors, including a restructured lighting system, a camera and multiple lasers. The X40 Ultra was the only robot we tested that could refill and empty its basestation in a self-contained manner. It also boasted an industry-leading suction of 12,000Pa as well as self-cleaning mops.

The X40, like other iRobot products, is simple to operate. It has a simple mobile app interface that is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Apple HomeKit. The only real drawback is that it's loud which could be an issue if you use it in the morning before work, or at night when you attempt to sleep.

It's also somewhat expensive, though it's not as expensive as the Ecovacs Omni or the Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra both of which are equally capable and more attractive. If you're willing with a bit more noise and a little more cost this is a powerful two-in-one that will delight most.

iRobot L20 Ultra

The L20 Ultra is a top-of-the-range robot vacuum and mop with many advanced features to help you forget about your chores.  vacuum bot  to Ecovacs' range-topping X2 Omni and Roborock's S8 Pro Ultra, the L20 is designed to be a hands-off cleaning machine that takes care of both mopping and vacuuming, with a multifunction dock that automatically empties the vacuum's dust bin, fills its water tank, and cleans and dry its mop pads.

The smart robot utilizes LIDAR and structured lighting to create floor plans and spot obstacles. It can navigate more efficiently than its premium competitors. It also comes with a front-mounted camera for real-time hazards detection, though this wasn't 100% reliable in our tests and was sometimes confused with obstructions or power cords.

The vacuum has a suction maximum of 7,000 Pascals, which is more than enough to get the job done. It also has a feature called "Intelligent Dirt Detection", that regulates the power of the vacuum and adjusts cleaning frequency for various areas of the home based on how dirty these areas are.

For bigger homes it's worth looking for one with zone or spot cleaning modes that allow you to tell the robot to clean a particular area of your house by using the app or via voice commands. A stairway mode is beneficial if you have number of furniture. For busy families, a recharge function and resume feature that permits your robot vacuum to pick up where it left off could be extremely useful.

5. iRobot Roomba RX3

The RX3 is a more efficient cleaner than you'd imagine from its price. It does a stellar job vacuuming, removing 55% of the debris that was found in our tests (it was second only to the Roomba Q5 Pro). It also mops with one pad and a reciprocating movement which is cleaner than the majority of the robot mop cleaners that we've tested. It's also highly self-sufficient, with a fully-featured application, and a self emptying, washable base.

The well-designed iRobot app will guide you through an initial mapping run that gathers information about your floorplan as well as any "no-go" areas you mark on the map. It can be used to create cleaning schedules, set up the perfect spot for cleaning or sort out your rooms with the most dirt to ensure better performance. The app has a range of features, including seasonal suggestions, custom mapping, and advanced cleaning settings.

Its shape is more rectangular than other robot vacuums, meaning it can get to corners and under furniture more easily. It also has strong 8000 Pascal suction and combs with intelligent technology for pet hair. You can also set up a spot-clean that thoroughly cleans an area.

The Miele Scout RX3 Home Vision HD is a sleeker and less expensive alternative to the iRobot Roomba. It has a more attractive, Dolce & Gabbana-esque design and its twin cameras appear like cute eyes. It is capable of vacuuming but is more prone to be caught by low thresholds and is noisier than the other top robot vacuums we've examined. It also has an app that's less intuitive and a small base station that does not double as a bin for emptying.
